Samburu National Reserve is located along the Ewaso Nyiro River surrounded by the beautiful savannah plains. The Reserve is well famous for animals like the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa oryx they are commonly known as the Samburu Special Five. Samburu National Reserve is also home for other animals like the elephants, lions, leopards and cheetahs. Bird watching can also be experienced in the reserve since it has over 450 recorded species.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Departure

Pick up from the hotel or airport and travel north of Kenya towards the Samburu National Reserve and arrive in time for lunch. After checking in at the lodge you can have lunch as you relax awaiting for the evening game drive. After the game drive you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast you head to have a full day game drive in the park. The park is famous for having species like the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa oryx they are commonly known as the Samburu Special Five. You will also get a chance to experience 3 of the big five the elephant, leopard and the lion. There is also a variety of birds that will be seen in the reserve. After the full day game drive you head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

After having breakfast you will have an early morning game drive the head back to Nairobi city. Lunch will be on the way from Samburu. Airport transfers and hotel drop offs will be done as required upon arrival in the city.
